Thousand-year bloody battle of death The anime season 1 episode 44 titled “Perfect Scarlet” and episode 45 titled “Defending You” intensify the battle against Yhwach and his army as Orihime steps up in force.
Although Ichigo launched his rescue mission in episode 43, most of “Perfect Scarlet” focused on Gerald’s battles with Kenpachi, Byakuya, and Hitsugaya. Fans have been waiting to see Kenpachi’s Ben Jie perform. I think the animation has delivered. It didn’t last long, which is fair since it didn’t appear in the comics either. However, it’s still cool to see Kenpachi get a massive power boost after activating his Bankai and transforming into a demonic bloodthirsty one.

Rukia experienced this when she activated the powerful Cold Bianjie. Yes, Kenpachi has some very good hits against Gerrard, but due to Gerrard’s OP regeneration ability, Gerrard is a very poor matchup for someone like Kenpachi. Even after being cut in half by Kenpachi, Gerard reshaped himself into a more powerful form.
Another moment that fans are looking forward to is when Hitsugaya reveals the full potential of his Bankai, which requires him to unlock his adult form. I remember the hype that manga fans felt when they first saw Hitsugaya in his adult form. I imagine fans who only watch the anime have experienced something similar, especially how good-looking Hitsugaya looks as an adult.
Hitsugaya’s Bankai works well against Gerald’s weapons, especially since his sword instantly damages the attacker when hit. However, Gerrard is once again out of tune with the current good guys and refuses to accept defeat no matter what they do. Gerald is once again one of those annoying enemies who keeps the supporting cast busy. He was very successful at this.
As for the current situation between the human world and the Soul Society, the integration of the three realms has led to countless Hollows entering the human world and wreaking havoc. We got a nice little scene in Soul Society where the Shinigami set out to protect humanity. This is yet another narrative device that shows everyone busy doing what they can while the main battle against Yhwach continues.
Jumping over to Ichigo, I love how “Perfect Scarlet” has Ichigo reassuring Orihime that he can indeed control his Hollow form. The poor girl is most likely going through post-traumatic stress disorder from Ulquiorra’s arc. At that time, Orihime felt helpless at not being able to protect Ichigo from losing control.
Of course, Ichigo unlocks a new form that embodies Ichigo’s hybrid nature, impressing Yhwach. But even if Ichigo unleashes the Gran Rey Cero attack on Yhwach, it’s still not enough to defeat such a god-like being.
“Defending You” focuses on Yhwach and Ichigo and surprises manga readers by providing pure animation content. The ending of things, whether it’s anime or manga bleach Fans were left in the dark about what would happen next. There is a widely circulated theory that I will talk about later.
Since Orihime did so much in episode 42, I thought she would take a back seat and have Yhwach compete against Ichigo as a way for the creative team to show off Ichigo’s true power in the form of his salvation horn. Even in his Salvation Horn form, Ichigo’s power level is unable to match Yhwach’s strength, causing him to be tossed around and injured. This allowed Orihime to demonstrate her immense willpower as she not only continued to heal Ichigo, but also continued to heal herself, fending off Yhwach’s barrage of attacks. Orihime knows she’s not strong enough to defeat someone like Yhwach, but it’s her refusal to give up that makes this scene so impactful. It’s obvious that Orihime will protect Ichigo until her last breath. In a twisted way, Yuvac wanted to see just how far Orihime was willing to go. Yuvachi thinks she is a pest and attacks her and Ichigo until Orihime is exhausted.
Rukia’s timely appearance is another exciting moment. Fans of the manga were disappointed to see Rukia not participating in such a major battle, so would welcome the anime correcting this. I mean, it’s true that Rukia isn’t powerful enough to defeat Yhwach, but narratively speaking, she should be on Ichigo’s side. Seeing Rukia and Ichigo both using their swastikas to team up against Yhwach…the animators knocked it out of the park!
While I’m not a huge fan of the way Ichigo’s swastika looks in its horn of salvation form, I have to say that the visual effect of his attack creating a giant crescent moon is incredibly pleasing.
But even so, Ichigo and Rukia weren’t enough to defeat Yuvac.
This is where Orihime takes matters into her own hands.
During Yhwach’s match against Ichigo and Rukia, Orihime cursed her weakness. She kept thinking about what use she would be able to do if she were stronger. Although she can heal Ichigo and Rukia, her actions still don’t matter as Yhwach will continue to attack.
Orihime hopes that she can cover the entire world with her power and “reject” war, pain, and any unnecessary struggle. I think that’s exactly what happened. From what I understand, Orihime rejected her own weaknesses and instead tapped into a willpower strong enough to face Yhwach. In order to end the current battle, Orihime must reject Yuwah.
as early as earlier bleachAizen mentions how Orihime has the power to reject gods. However, over the next few decades, Orihime’s character didn’t get a chance to showcase her abilities, with most of her screen time focused on healing people rather than engaging in combat due to her timid nature.
So yeah, kudos to Tite Kubo and the rest of the creative team for going back to what Aizen said and having Orihime reject Yhwach aka God.
From the soundtrack to Orihime walking towards Yhwach as she wishes for more power, directly questioning the goblins that made her shunshunrikka…something incredible! As the credits rolled, I had to take a few minutes to collect my thoughts.
Yuvac has always boasted that using power solely to protect others is a form of weakness. According to Juvac, real power should be able to shape the world. So, it’s ironic that his downfall was caused by someone like Orihime who was willing to risk her life to protect others.
While Orihime vs Yhwach was brilliant and gave us an emotional wallop, let’s get back to our theories of what will happen next, tying the events in the anime to what happened in the manga.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the events of episode 45 are a glimpse into a possible future that Yhwach sees. This would allow Yhwach to use the Almighty to rewrite reality and choose a gift that Orihime didn’t live up to to defeat him. Doing so preserves Orihime’s contribution while not deviating from the direction of the manga. This theory is related to the story of the Almighty’s return to Yhwach as shown in “Defend You” after Ishida placed the Sanri Gauntlet on Haswalth to take away Haswalth’s powers.
So, yes, even if Yhwach manages to rewrite reality through the Almighty in the next episode, it won’t affect Orihime’s abilities when pushed to the edge. Additionally, having Yhwach forced to rewrite reality because he’s afraid of what Orihime will do to him would help solidify Orihime as a force to be reckoned with. bleach Intellectual property rights and others.
