Katayama Ayaka’s Jian and Zhe (Fungi and iron) concluded its 105th chapter in the October 2026 issue of Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine on Tuesday, marking the end of the five-year run of the series.
Katayama began drawing a dystopian science fiction suspense manga in Bessatsu Shōnen magazine in March 2021. Kodansha published the ninth volume on April 9, and the tenth and final volume is scheduled to be released on October 8.
Kodansha America obtained the English digital distribution license for the manga in January 2022, and published the ninth e-book volume on July 21.
Katayama made his debut after one hit in 2007 River of Ghost Love Selected as the 78th Young Man Magazine Newcomer Comic Award. The following year, she won Shueisha’s first Golden Crown Award for her science fiction romantic comedy manga. Starman.
