All good things must come to an end. Nine years after the opening of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba, a life-size RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Now in its final days before demolition, fans don’t have to be there to see it one last time.

The performance begins at 7.30pm JST and includes a special live performance by renowned composer Hiroyuki Sawano, whose works cover Mobile Suit Gundam UC, Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative,as well as Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway film series – and SennaRin, the film’s insert song performer The Magic of Fairy Circe Sequel movie.
After the send-off, the exhibition will run for two more days (until August 31), with a series of films and light shows on a loop every half hour between 7pm and 9:30pm. The title of the special lecture is Unicorn Gundam Statue ~Beyond Possibilities~ It’s also scheduled for 8pm, and those in Tokyo can rock it via Strict-G Gundam Go to the boutique and Gundam Base in Diver City to purchase souvenir merchandise.
This marks the second time Odaiba has said goodbye to a Gundam statue, as the RX-0 Unicorn replaces the previous RX-78-2 model, and it’s unclear if another attraction will replace it. In March 2024, the beloved RX-78F00 Gundam ended its run at the Yokohama Gundam Factory, with some parts being reused for a new statue in front of the Gundam Next Future Pavilion at the 2025 Osaka Expo.
