Together with her real-life friends, Maple attempts to conquer the “New World Online”. They had some fun times in the game and completed some challenging missions. For these video game experts, these tasks seem like a piece of cake. However, Maple really doesn’t know what she’s doing, which makes for an interesting dynamic.
In the game, there are multiple activities for players to participate in. The best performers will receive attention, and the rest will be devoured, haha. The introduction of the guild reminded me of Record Horizon, and the overall team dynamic was very SAO-like, with a relaxed and fun attitude.
Bofuri is by far the show I look forward to the most when I turn on Hulu. It has action, video game mechanics, classic anime tropes, and an overall cute and fun energy associated with it.
The main character, Kaede, tugs at my heartstrings and makes me enjoy the 20-minute episodes every week. I’m looking forward to seeing what crazy overwhelming situations she gets herself into, and I can’t wait for the next one. The story itself is a little light, but the overall entertainment makes up for it. The joy of watching a comedy OP hero story is also a sweet enjoyment. I rate the 2020 winter season pretty highly as there are only a few shows worth your time.
