The American Comics Awards honor comics creators and publishers who have made significant contributions to the popularity of comics in North America and Japan.

Voting by editorial professionals working with North American comics publishers determines the winners.
Deb Aoki (publishers weekly, comic beats, Comics explanation Podcast) leads the American Comics Awards Planning Committee.
Last year’s awards ceremony was held in New York last August. Winners include The guy she’s interested in isn’t a man at all, Pharmacist’s Diary,”Huan and Tianyin,” Cities of Tomorrow: Fighting for Tomorrow, Otaku Love Connectionsand planet Deluxe Edition.
