The Amazing Spider-Man #1000 On sale later this month, Based on what we’ve seen in recent landmark issue previewsPeter Parker’s world could be about to change dramatically.
Next month, New York Comic Con will be held at the Javits Center. The “Spider Web” panel is now confirmed to take place on Saturday, October 10th at 3:30 pm, and it sounds like Marvel Comics is planning a big web spinner-related announcement.
“There’s never been a better time to be a web master! Just wrapped up The Amazing Spider-Man #1000, the biggest issue in Spider-Man history, and find out what’s coming for Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy and more,” Read the official description of the panel, “A look at the future of Marvel’s Spider-Man Spider-Man, including a big announcement that will turn their world upside down!”
While the news appears to affect the Marvel Universe’s three main Spider-heroes, there are unconfirmed rumors on social media that Marvel Comics intends to eventually reunite Peter Watson and Mary Jane Watson.
Whether May’s amnesia somehow undoes her deal with Mephisto in “One More Day” or it’s a move to bring the comics more in line with the Marvel Universe – which has been focused on Peter and MJ’s romance for the better part of a decade – this will be welcomed by fans. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.
Many Marvel Comics executives are dismissive of the idea that Peter and Jordan should be together, but fans are vocal in wanting them to be together. Spider-Man needs to grow, so maybe the publisher’s new editor-in-chief Stephen Wacker will make that happen?
