Chainsaw Man Season 1 Review: A Bloody Good Time – 9 Tailed Kitsune

Fans are excited chainsaw man in previous years chainsaw man The first season of the anime is released. The series heralded the arrival of a new golden age of anime. This anime is a prophet of good times to come. chainsaw man It was supposed to change everything.

Unfortunately, this didn’t happen.

The comic was released to great fanfare and became a series known for its style rather than its content. Season 1 is a perfect example of the latter. But the richness of style doesn’t mean the collection isn’t effective.

chainsaw man comics

chainsaw man is valid. Season 1 sets up the plot, establishes the main characters, and presents the main conflicts in the story.

Between every blood splatter, dirty joke, and emotional moment, there’s something special. This is an artistic twist on realism.

It’s not often that we find a teenager who’s both effective and special, especially in the first season.

A new interpretation of the boy

chainsaw man is a comic series, written by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The story has been serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” since December 2018. The series is ongoing. In the fall of 2022, the animation will be released.

The play has a total of twelve episodes chainsaw man Season 1. The series airs on Crunchyroll, Hulu and Prime Video. Fans agree chainsaw man It’s a solid ride with plot twists, gore, and psychological manipulation. The series ditches the shonen trope handbook and is worth remembering. Critics loved the series’ dark nature, characters, and storytelling.

Even by teenage standards, Danji is not a typical teenager. He lives with a chainsaw demon named Pochita. His father accumulated a heavy debt load. The burden of debt is passed on to the children of this world. Therefore, Denji must spend his life repaying his father’s burden. This is not a simple life. Denji spends his days harvesting demon corpses with Pochita to repay his debt.

Denji and Pochita

The first episode begins with our protagonist trudging to work. Dange summarized the funds raised to pay off debts he inherited from his parents. He also has more than 380 billion yen at his disposal, or about $260,000 at October 2022 exchange rates. He battled the tomato demon for his latest job and won. But after paying off debt and various other nonsensical fees and bills, he only had about $18 left of his own.

The story takes a dark turn when a gangster debtor lures Denji to a run-down warehouse. It’s revealed that the gang made a deal with the zombie demon, and they begin slashing and killing Denji.

As his consciousness fades, Danji forms a pact with his chainsaw demon companion, Pochita. This contract allows Denji to become “Chainsaw Man” again – a man with a devil’s heart and a chainsaw to sharpen.

After his transformation, Chuanzhi was captured by the government. What follows is a story of debauchery, pain and betrayal.

While still rooted in the shonen genre, chainsaw man Chart your own path – mostly for the better. Animation continues this trend.

That’s what I’m here for.

animation and music

MAPPA Studio’s choice to use 2D and 3D to create animations that are neither 2D nor 3D is not a stroke of genius. Foreground figures stand out as depth of field increases. The close-ups give the series a grinding, gritty feel. The force of each attack echoes off the screen.

The animation is a mess in the best possible way.

One might say that this result is due to the continuous advancement of anime animation over the years. chainsaw man The success of animation comes from the lessons learned from twenty years of failure. Additionally, MAPPA Studios tested a similar approach attack on titan. That attempt didn’t go well. But you try and learn. This time with Chainsaw Man?

You’ll see the benefits of lab sessions.

You can see the care put into the animation.

You will feel the intensity of each character interaction.

This is the definition of living, learning and adapting.

Music enhances all of these characteristics.

Admittedly, heavy metal or rock is not my cup of tea. But I listened to the complete OST of this series. The music of “Chainsaw Man” has a consistent rock theme. Denji cuts through Devils to a blaring soundtrack, and it’s hard not to get excited. There was nearly an hour of music. Each episode ends with a different track. Much of it is high energy.

This choice may not be unique chainsaw man. I’d love to see other series adapt it in the future, however.

Chainsaw Man Season 1 Speed Up

For young fans, chainsaw man This is a series you don’t want to miss.

chainsaw The man is exactly the type that anime shounen needs. chainsaw The Man lacks the usual shounen tropes – protagonists with dreams, peace-seeking protagonists, asexual male protagonists, and conflict in a sun-drenched world.

“Delegate” in particular is a commentary on modern life. It’s the simple joy of pain and struggle. Denji shows, more than anything, that those who don’t have big dreams or goals end up becoming pawns of others. Danji goes from one master to another – his parents’ debts to the mafia and their debts to the government. Fortunately, he is a simple man who wants basic instinctive things.

I wonder if we pursue simple things in life because we want to. Or do we pursue simpler things because society limits our choices and paths to success, so we settle for less? Or maybe it’s even possible that most people just want a simple life and simple pleasures, and the media promotes the grandiose lives we’re told to pursue.

Cchainsaw man The answers to these questions were not given in the first season. Just like in real life, the characters don’t question the big picture. They just live their lives with a devil-may-care attitude and enjoy simple pleasures.

Killing ghosts is a job, not a noble act. The characters are ordinary people who make deals with the devil in order to get a taste of power.

For many people, modern life is a wet, dirty job.

It’s refreshing that anime has started to reflect real life.
