It’s been a busy few weeks here at Breakthrough Visuals. On May 27th I spent the day in Villanova Universitytaking visual notes at a meeting of Catholic leaders of the Office of Mission and Ministrythinking about how to align the University more with the Augustinian teachings of Pope Leo, himself a Villanova graduate. It was a lovely meeting, especially for someone like me who is not familiar with Catholic teachings.
The following week I traveled to State of Pennsylvania for him CERAP summer research meeting of the Social Sciences Research Institutewhere I captured presentations and discussions on how social science researchers can more effectively connect with the communities they study. It was my second year working at the Social Sciences Research Institute, but my first working in person.
It was a pretty diverse set of material and really shows how visual note taking works with almost everything. It’s always fascinating to go through the process of starting an event feeling like I know nothing about the topic and, in the end, feeling like I have almost as much knowledge as everyone else in the room. It would be nice to retain all that information, but unfortunately it only remains as long as it is necessary. I’ll almost certainly be clueless again when I get home.
