When I reviewed The Fake Alchemist last month I mentioned that the series had been optioned for an anime; Given the very adult themes the series touches on, it will be interesting to see how they are handled, but a first trailer has been released and we can see a glimpse of how the show is shaping up: characters from volumes 1 and 2 are shown, the magical effects look lovely and have captured Nora’s sly look perfectly.
Synopsis:
As an indie hit that became a legendary sensation, surpassing one million copies in its commercial release in Japan, this monumental new “isekai” finally has a television adaptation!
In the city-state of Orichalconia, a world where alchemy and magic are deeply embedded in people’s lives, the reincarnated Paracelsus makes a living as an alchemist while hiding his “cheating abilities.”
However, his life changes dramatically one day after signing a contract with a shaman slave, Nora, and then meeting Coco, an elf who has lost all four limbs and all five senses.
To save Coco, what began as a rescue attempt in a small workshop gradually turns into a battle involving alchemy and sorcery, space, and even the gods themselves. Now the curtain rises on this story, filled to the brim with “everything fantastic”!
