Utopia, its creator Chi. Dissolution of the Earth (Orb: On the Movement of the Earth), announced two new comics on their X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday and Saturday.
The first title, Phantom meatIt is expected to start in Shogakukan Weekly Big Comic Spirits within this year.
Candidate/CheaterThe second title will be created by Uoto, with art by Kyou Yoneshiro. The manga is expected to be launched in Kodansha’s “Afternoon” monthly magazine in early 2027.
Murloc serialization Chi. Dissolution of the Earth Published in Big Comic Spirits from September 2020 to April 2022. Shogakukan published a total of eight volumes of the manga from December 2020 to June 2022.
Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the English version of the manga and will release all eight volumes as a four-volume collection between November 2023 and December 2024.
Chi. Dissolution of the Earth Won the Grand Prize of the 26th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Award and ranked second in the male readers category of “Kono Comics” in 2022! Ranked and nominated in the general category of the 15th Manga Taisho Awards and the 46th Kodansha Manga Awards.
“Madhouse” will adapt the manga into a 25-episode TV animation, which will be broadcast from fall 2024 to spring 2025. After the anime series aired in Japan, Netflix streamed it globally.
Uto is also serialized Baihuim. Published on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website from November 2018 to August 2019. Kodansha published five volumes of the manga between June and October 2019.
Rock’n Roll Mountain adapts the comic into an animated film, premiering in September 2025. GKIDS licensed the film in North America and will release it in theaters in October 2025. Netflix will stream the movie in December 2025.
