February 2025 Sakuraco What’s in the box?
Now that my country is in Japan Post Priority Shipping + Tracking – Country Group (Estimated delivery time: 7-28 days/$12.50 shipping), does take some time to arrive. But honestly, this box was worth the wait. I get excited every time because I know I’m about to open the package and wolf down an array of delicious Japanese desserts and snacks.
Each Sakuraco box contains a carefully selected assortment of salty, savory snacks and sweets, all accompanied by English booklets and cards. The booklet serves as a guide, providing insight into the month’s cultural theme and features stunning visuals. It details each snack, explaining what it is, any potential allergens and whether it is suitable for vegetarians. In fact, some snacks even include a backstory describing how they are made!
I think it’s worth mentioning that Sakuraco imports snacks directly from Japan, working with local artisans and small businesses to bring authentic regional cuisine to its subscribers. This makes it even more special since many of these snacks can’t be found anywhere else in the world.
This particular box comes with 14 snacks (plus tea), some duplicates, and a plum furoshiki. There are goodies like senbei, sable cookies, baumkuchen (my favorite!), yokan, arale, and karin candy. While the focus is mainly on sweetness (which is typical of Sakuraco), there are some savory and salty options like Daruma Senbei or Tanba Black Bean/Seto Salt Arare to balance it out.

It’s always hard to pick a favorite, but there are definitely a few that stand out to me (yes, I’m totally spoiled for Baumkuchen – if you’ve read my review, you know I’m obsessed with it!). Honestly, Baumkuchen is always a favorite as long as it comes in a box!
Pudding Baumkuchen
I don’t know what Baumkuchen is, but I just can’t get enough! It has the perfect balance of subtle yet delightful sweetness, and when you take a bite, it’s so soft, moist, and melts in your mouth. This one has a hint of pudding and caramel, but just enough to kick the flavor up a notch without overpowering it. Still my favorite classic delicious Baumkuchen!
Chocolate Yokan
This chocolate yokan is made from sweet red bean paste and has a smooth, jelly-like texture. The chocolate flavor is subtle and blends gently with the natural sweetness of the coffee beans. I found it to be a perfectly balanced treat – silky smooth and satisfying in every bite. I also love that its mild sweetness still delivers a deep, comforting richness.
Strawberry top
I didn’t know what to expect from this, but I was pleasantly surprised. The slightly sweet and rich strawberry filling is wrapped in delicate, slightly crispy wafers, but the overall texture is still soft and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
Orange Chocolate Cookies
With its crunchy crunch, vibrant orange and rich dark chocolate flavor, this cookie makes me wish there were at least 20 more in the box! I love the refreshing flavor of the orange – it contrasts perfectly with the rich chocolate.
Chocolate Carino
The packaging of this Chocolate Karin Candy is larger than most Karin Candy, so I ate it for at least three days. I love it with green tea and coffee – it features crispy fried dough strips coated in syrup, creating a rich, satisfying sweetness that pairs perfectly with the bold flavors of my drink.
Final Thoughts on Sakuraco February 2025 Box
Sakuraco never disappoints me – in fact, every box I receive for an honest review (and there are many!) comes as a delightful surprise that introduces me to my new favorite Japanese sweets and treats. This may sound cliche, but it was the closest I’ve ever come to experiencing Japan.
