New Inside Out 2 trailer: analyzing the details

Hurrah! 🚩 The new Inside out 2 The trailer arrived yesterday, as we approach 3 months until its theatrical release (June 14). Take a look at the trailer below and read on to delve into the details.

New emotions

We have known for a long time that the From the inside out The sequel will feature new thrills, and now we’ve finally gotten a good look at them!

  • Anxiety: Voiced by Maya Hawke
  • Envy: Voiced by Ayo Edebiri
  • Ennui: Voiced by Adèle Exarchopoulos
  • Shame: Voiced by Paul Walter Hauser

The Envy may be my favorite of the bunch – it’s fun to see the design features that match the excitement and that the Envy has massive absolutely fits that trait.

In the poster, you can see the emotions crammed into a small space, implying that Riley’s mind will be (literally) full of emotions. Anxiety is clearly taking center stage in the trailer, and I’m sure many of us can relate when we think about our teenage years.

One interesting ‘plot’ that Pixar fans have been picking up on is: why would Riley’s parents’ minds now have these new emotions in the original film if they had been there the whole time? Our response to this is twofold. 1. Let’s rely on Pixar’s clever storytelling to tie up those loose ends, and 2. All of these emotions seem to be tied to puberty in some way. Hopefully, by the end of the film, there will be a resolution that involves ensuring that these emotions never have control of ‘headquarters’, but still have an important role to play elsewhere.

Returning characters

In addition to Joy, Disgust, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and the Anderson family, it looks like we’ll also see the return of those goofy guys, including beloved Subconscious Guard Dave. However, there are still some unknown new characters, with voices including June Squibb and Flea.

The landscape and other details.

The scenery in this trailer is awesome! From the inside out It was a beautiful film, but the sequel has truly set a new standard. It will be very exciting to explore the new locations inside Riley’s mind, and it’s great to see that the humor is still there with the “sar-abyss.”

Look at that awesome shot! Does Riley’s mind become more complex and intertwined as she grows? And that seems like a combined memory of joy and disgust floating there, which means that the combined memories discovered in the first film must be part of everyday life now.

We’re also impressed by the real-world shots. Riley looks older, but not dramatically different. She is a young teenager with imperfections, but the imperfections look… beautiful? are good see stuff like this in newer animated movies. Just look at the two images below – look at how natural her embarrassed blush looks.

And finally… look how silly Fear’s pen is.

We can’t wait for June 14th! Let us know if you see any other little details in the trailer.
