David Colton is the miracle man. Or is it him? It has been promised that Avengers Armageddon #5 by Chip Zdarsky, Delio Diaz and Frank Alpizarreleased today, will change things in the Marvel Universe going forward. And from the looks of it, they’re not wrong. In David Colton’s requests we are told: “What is the price of all that great power?” So let’s dig deeper. Spoilers obviously…
The last issue saw David Colton, who opened an Origin Box created by The Maker, the evil Reed Richards from the original Ultimate Universe, who shaped the new Ultimate Universe to his whim and gave him extraordinary superhuman powers, only to see him transform into the body and costume of Miracleman after saying the word Kimota, as in the character from a completely different reality, the original postmodern superhero story of Alan Moore, Garry Leach, Alan Davis, Chuck Austen, Rick Veitch and John Totleben. This Miracleman was revealed to have been the result of human military experiments using alien technology, the results of which transformed the world into an impossible paradise. For some. And it also gave Mike Moran, Miracleman, access to a wardrobe of bodies as a result of the alien Qys technology.
There are more bodies to choose from. David Colton has access to Qys’ wardrobe. Which, in the original, looked a little like this.
More on that to come. Especially since we previously saw David Colton’s Miracleman take over the world’s nuclear weapons and throw them into the sun. never was superman IVIt was always Miracleman…
And the potential for more of this world change to come from Miracleman now that he’s on the team…
There’s a famous scene with Miracleman and Margaret Thatcher along those lines…
But that’s for later. There is another question to ask about Miracleman. If these Miracleman powers came from an inhabitant of a parallel universe, working in another… but having passed through 616 on his journey between them…
Does the Marvel Universe have its own Mike Moran? That seems to be the implication…
