Here you have the second part of the scans of the Henry newspaper comic strips. The first one is here. I thought I had one or two more weeks left, but noooo. I have much more. I bought them on eBay a few years ago. I had no idea I had so many.
The strips below are from the last month of January 1935. The strip had just started the previous month, on December 17, 1934. In fact, it had started earlier as a weekly article in the Saturday Evening Post. Two years after its debut in the magazine, William Randoph Hearst saw it and signed its creator, Carl Anderson, to a King Features distribution deal.
Carl had reached the pinnacle of cartooning: a distribution deal. He was then seventy years old. He would continue the feature film, which appeared seven days a week beginning in March 1935, for its first eight years, before handing it over to two assistants.
Warning: They have not aged well and by today’s standards there is some offensive racist imagery. Offered as a piece of history.
