The auction is part of this round of charity auctions for PLAS, a non-governmental organization that supports AIDS orphans in Africa. Takahashi said in a statement from PLAS that she hopes the donation will help children.

This is not the first time Takahashi has participated in a PLAS charity auction. The comics creator takes part in a series of early auctions held by PLAS from March to September 2023. Takahashi offers another autographed illustration of Inuyasha, priced at 1,001,000 yen (approximately $6,250 USD).
Takahashi serialization Inuyasha exist Shogakukanof Weekly Shōnen Sunday Magazine published between November 1996 and June 2008. The comic series inspired an animated series that aired from October 2000 to September 2004. The subsequent series aired from October 2009 to April 2010.
The sequel to the animated series, Yakshahime: Half-demon princessairing from October 2020 to March 2021, with Season 2 subsequently airing between October 2021 and March 2022. Shiina Takashi Adapted this sequel anime into its own manga series, and Shogakukanof Teenage Sunday S Magazine runs from September 2021 to June 2025.
