Pixar’s next blog has been on a brief hiatus since Elementary launched last summer, but we’re at it again and there’s lots of exciting news to catch up on! Inside out 2 It’s just a few months away from its release date, and for the first time everPixar movies that couldn’t make it to the big screen during the pandemic are arriving (and currently in!) theaters around the world.

Inside out 2 It is scheduled for release on June 14, 2024. Check out the latest trailer:
Inside out 2Directed by Kelsey Mann, it takes place approximately one year after the events of the original film. From the inside outand will see newly teenage Riley having to learn to deal with new emotions. New emotion Anxiety will be played by Maya Hawke, and June Squibb has been cast as an as-yet-unrevealed character.
Anxiety (above) is depicted as a bright orange exhausted emotion with large, worried eyes. Other emotions will include: boredom, envy and shame. Ah, the joys of being a young teenager.
Soul, Turning Red and Luca hit theaters!
The theatrical release dates for these films vary slightly around the world. In the USA, Soul first hit theaters on January 12 (originally released in 2020 directly on Disney+), turning red is out now (starting February 9), and Lucas It follows just a month later, as of March 22.
UK release dates are delayed by about a month: turning red starting February 9, Soul starting March 8, and Lucas starting April 5. And you better believe I’m going to see them all, at least once.
What’s even more exciting is that each of these films will be released alongside a Pixar short! A fan-favorite tradition: We hope this means Pixar combines its feature films with shorts again in the future. The pairings are as follows (two of which have only been available on Disney+):
turning red: kitbull
Soul: Burrow
Lucas: for the birds
Personally, when I watched these Pixar movies at home, I chose in advance which short film I wanted to watch. The Moon was my choice for Lucas – both directed by Enrico Casarosa, it was wonderful to see the similarities in art style and how far it had come since then. But for the birds is a classic, directed by the late, brilliant Ralph Eggleston.
It must be very exciting for all these filmmakers to see their work finally hit theaters – all three films looked like magic on a movie screen.
