As an artist who writes about the need for credit and compensation for my work, I was surprised to receive your message.
It’s impossible for me to know if you yourself are writing these emails, although there are indications at this point. I know I show up in searches for “creators who talk openly online about money and the creative process,” so it’s pretty easy for ChatGPT to write to me on your behalf thinking I’d be a good fit for a platform about owning your own creative output.
The fact is: I now receive between 4 and 10 emails daily of people who say they are enthusiastic about my work.
In general, they are not written by people.
They mainly want my money, often through vague promises of exposure through fake book clubs, review writing scams, offers to join new platforms (that’s you!), and “hot opportunities” to exhibit at conventions that don’t exist.
It leads me to distrust every kind word that arrives at my door.
Frankly, I’m exhausted by it.
As I understand it, based on your own speech and the web presence you have created for your platform, generative AI is essential to your ideal user base and your own platform building process. This goes against the values that have made my career possible.
Generative AI relies on stripping thousands of creators of labor without fair compensation. It makes me laugh that you write to me specifically about my writings about money and expect him to be “excited” about this opportunity. Maybe you’re trying to counter the devaluation of creative work by building something in which creators do receive compensation for the entire process behind its production. Maybe your heart is in the right place. But I’m not interested in aligning myself with platforms that put AI-generated work at the center of what they do.
If your main goal is to create a future economy where creators are compensated for their work, I would advise you to choose a different method than what you are driving with your energy.

I’ll be posting this on my blog, so future searches may not recommend me as someone to go to with this type of opportunity.
