Once again, it’s the end of the year! Throughout this year many things have changed for this blog and for me. Although it’s harder for me to keep Shooting Star Dreamer constantly updated, I can’t help but make a New Year’s post for all of you.
As the New Year approached, things felt a little different than before. I feel like the anime community and anime in general have been changing, or maybe even evolving. Whether this is good or bad, I’m not sure. All I know is that it has changed my approach to anime. (and my frequency of following anime)
One thing that hasn’t changed is my tradition of creating New Year’s resolutions. After reflecting deeply on my goals, I do not believe that they are goals that simply need to be accomplished in the future. If these goals are not met but work is done to achieve them, then progress and growth will still be there. Completing the goal is not necessarily the goal of resolutions, it is simply having a guide to achieve it.
Another thing I’ve realized; New Year’s resolutions are not always made simply at the end of the year. I have collected information and signs of things that need improvement, but they come to me constantly throughout the year.
My New Year’s resolution for next year isn’t necessarily one thing. My goal is to take advantage of the opportunities that are available; gain skills, experience and improve where possible. This is a continuation of some of my old New Year’s self-care resolutions, which is something I plan to focus on as well.
I encourage everyone else to set goals, even if they are small. Simply working towards these goals and having something to keep you on track will help ensure you don’t lose your way.
