The anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End celebrates the third anniversary since the series began airing in September 2023 with a new illustration (below) that combines elements of Frieren’s past and present with his fellow adventurers. Additionally, the anime has begun releasing a series of “countdown” artwork leading up to the third season premiere of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End in October 2027. Character designer Keisuke Kojima contributes the first illustration (below). Kanehito Yamada writes and Tsukasa Abe illustrates the original manga Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, which Shogakukan publishes in its Weekly Shonen Sunday manga magazine, with 15 volumes published to date. VIZ Media publishes an English version of the series. Crunchyroll streams the anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and describes the story: After the group of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to a life of solitude. Generations pass and the elven wizard Frieren comes face to face with the mortality of humanity. He hires a new apprentice and promises to fulfill the last wishes of old friends.
