Splinters of Evil are some of the rarest drops in Diablo 4 Season 15, but once you get your hands on a specific type (Hate, Terror, or Destruction), that’s all you can have of that type at a time. Blizzard appears to have intentionally designed this specific seasonal drop to be non-stacking, meaning you can only have one sliver of each type in your inventory at a time. This might seem like a fairly specific problem, applicable only to endgame players at the highest levels of Torment, and it is, but for those players it’s a major problem precisely because splinters are so rare. Imagine having to walk away from one of the rarest drops in the game simply because you already have one in your inventory, and then you can understand why the final players have banded together to search for a homebrew solution and found one.
As detailed in a new video from prolific Diablo creator Rob2628, there is a fairly simple, but tedious, workaround you can do if In fact You want duplicate slivers in your inventory. As Rob2628 points out, you’ll need at least one friend who is high enough level in Diablo 4 to access Torment level 10, where you can farm Splinters of Evil from Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal.
Once you’ve successfully bribed your friend with pizza delivery (ideally, the good stuff from your local Italian joint and not just some fast food), you’ll need to invite him to your party once you have your duplicate chip to drop. Then, have them hang out near the splinter while you switch to another character who doesn’t already have that same splinter in their inventory, and then have your friend invite your alt to the server with the cheat so you can pick it up.

In the words of Rob2628, your friend is essentially “holding the instance” so that the duplicate item doesn’t disappear when you log out as your main character, making it very important that he rejects the message to return to his own world.
I haven’t tried this trick yet and frankly I couldn’t do it because I only have one character that can go into Torment 10, but I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work. You are simply subject to so many limitations and requirements related to other players that you would be much more likely to close the game and play something else. Rob2628 adds in his video: “A lot of you don’t have friends anyway.”
One of the most coveted items in Diablo 2 arrives by surprise in Diablo 4, and it is as dominated as it was 25 years ago.
