For the third year in a row, and for the first time IN PERSON, Jo Knowles and I will be leading a week-long workshop on creating YA and MG comics at CCS in White River Junction, VT. EVEN on ZOOM this week made me feel elated, so I can’t wait to experience creating comics together in the same room and being able to go to nearby cafes for a break and lunch. As anxious as it may seem to make travel plans right now (I’m out of practice), the anticipation of this week spent generating story ideas, working on projects, and gaining a community of peers alleviates these fears.
Whether you have an idea for a graphic novel or a project already in progress, or are even wondering how to compose in panels, pages, and spreads, or know someone who is, consider spending this week at a YA/MG comics spa! It’s also a chance for a short-term taste of life at CCS: the sound of trains passing through the crossing and a glorious immersion in comics creation. Register here.
