Have you ever seen a live cheer dance performance before? I know most of you have. Even if you’re not that into it just because your friends dragged you to see one, I’m sure you’ll be surprised by what the cheerleading squad can do. Most of the time you will see girls being thrown into the air as if they are flying and then they will land gracefully with a goddess smile.
Girls have ruled the cheerleading world for a long time. Admit it. When you hear the word cheerleading, you immediately think of girls wearing tight clothes and short skirts, holding frilly pom-poms. Or, if there are men in the team, they are usually the ones lifting and supporting the girl while she performs her stunts.
If you are a fan of cheerleading, you may like the anime “Cheerleaders”. However, Cheer Danshi has a different take on cheerleading – the members are all menespecially college students. And these two young people here are the protagonists:
I know some of you will be disgusted and think that an all-boy cheerleading team is gay. In fact, “Cheer Danshi” has been included in Goboiano’s 15 worst-selling anime of summer 2016, which is really sad. At first, I was going to give up on this anime as well because the summary was so… not that exciting.
But I promised myself that before giving up on an anime series this summer, I should at least watch the first episode, because many times I give up on an anime because of a poorly written summary, only to find out later that it was actually good.

| 333 people dropped the Cheer Alchemist! ! 🙁 |
Maybe these 333 people didn’t realize how wonderful “Happy Bullshit” was, and didn’t even bother to watch the first episode. However, your stereotypes of cheerleaders may change, especially when you start watching this anime.
Now, let me start telling you the advantages Why “Happy Slingstones” is worth watching.
If girls can do it, so can boys.
In this animated series, Cheerleaders emphasizes that cheerleading doesn’t have to be all girls, and that even boys can rival the cheerleading efforts of the girls.
Today, cheerleading is no longer just for women. Yes, there is a women’s cheer team, a mixed team and a men’s cheer team. So if you are male and want to join a cheerleading club, don’t be shy about joining.

| Don’t worry Haru. Even if you do, you still look cool. |
Whether you’ve mastered the moves or not, Cheer Danshi makes it clear that as long as you’re determined to learn or want to try something new on your own, you can never go wrong by doing your best. So if the people around you prevent you from pursuing what you want, don’t mind them; mind what you want to do.
Ball games aren’t just cool, macho sports.
I think Cheer Danshi is not far behind when it comes to handsomeness and masculinity. Cheer dancing is also a men’s sport! I actually like Cheerleaders as a non-traditional sports anime. This is actually a rare find since most sports animations are of basketball, tennis, baseball, football or any other sport involving a ball.
Although Laladandan doesn’t play ball, isn’t that cool enough?

It’s okay to quit if things don’t go your way.
Most anime series teach us to “do your best,” but Cheer Danshi also understands that it’s okay to give up on your passion when you’ve reached your limit. Haru used to be a member of the judo club, but since he didn’t have any results, he decided to quit. Later joined the cheerleading dance club.
I know most young anime fans live by the phrase “never give up.” But sometimes, persistence will bring greater harm to yourself, whether it is love or dreams. If you give up on something, I don’t think it’s actually that bad. When you quit smoking, you are just doing yourself a favor and starting a new chapter in your life. When you become an adult, you will understand this better.
Cheerleading revives the true meaning of cheerleading.
Many people think that cheer dance performances are just for entertainment. It’s fun and exciting to watch. However, Cheer Danshi is more than just entertainment and fun.
Honestly, when Kazu explained his reasons for establishing the cheer dance club, my heart resonated. In addition to admiring his parents who were former cheerleaders, Kazu also rediscovered the true purpose and meaning of cheerleading. That is:
“Become a hero by supporting others. Gain the strength to inspire others to reach greater heights.”
That’s it! I hope you consider adding Cheer Danshi to your watchlist. Have you started watching this anime yet? What are your thoughts on this? Please tell me in the comment box.
