Last weekend, the Association of Canadian Cartoonists (ACC) gathered on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls for its 2026 convention, described as a “pop-up mini-congress.” The two Townsend Awards (The Townsies), one for the best Francophone cartoon and the other for the best Anglophone cartoon, were awarded respectively to Guy Badeaux (Not yet) and New Zealand Rod Emmerson.

Despite the meeting’s short notice, some Americans made the trip north.
