Additional casting and story details for male lead Jin Shi and other characters are still being kept under wraps, so it’s unclear whether the project will strictly follow the source material or feature an entirely original plot. Yuki Saito (Plastic surgery) serves as the director, Erika Yoshida (Rock Bochi! Animation) serves as screenwriter.

The upcoming series is the latest addition to a busy schedule for fans. The third season of the anime will return on October 2, and the second season (each season) will return in April 2027. A film based on Hinata’s original story will be released between the two windows on December 11, and a regional exhibition will stay in Singapore from September 30 to November 1.
Written by Hinata and illustrated by Touko Shino, this historical drama was launched as an online novel in 2011 and received two manga adaptations from Square Enix and Shogakukan. The official description is this:
